06/26/2003: Harry Potter (no spoilers whatsoever)
Looking at my LJ friendslist these days it seems as if everybody (and their dog) just read the newest Harry Potter book. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the HP books or anything, it's just that the last days the entries have been somewhat mono-topical (is that a word?), and I haven't read the books myself. Nor have I watched either of the movies. I'm starting to feel like I'm missing out on some essential shared culture or something. Maybe I should borrow the books from my older sister, who has all Harry Potter books and had (of course) mail ordered the newest one months in advance to arrive last Saturday. The date nicely coincided with her birthday, too. And unlike my brother I didn't mock her for anticipating a children's book like that.
